Surround Test

I will be posting true surround (discrete multi-channel) files here. This is a test to check if browsers do respond well to wav, aac or mp4 files with 5.1 multichannel content. Click on the player above to check if your system is ready for m4v (with aac enconded audio). Otherwise you might try the multichannel wav on the link below.

If your equipment is properly configured you should hear the voice and noise bursts coming in isolation from every single loudspeaker in your 5.1 setup. Otherwise you will have to make sure that you have the right equipment and that it is configured for 5.1 audio content.

For those who don’t have their computer connected to their surround equipment (or home cinema) I will also make a limited edition in physical formats (DVD-r and CD-audio).

Today I posted an old track on my brand new soundcloud account: Fibra óptica. It is something I did back in ’86 and that even got played by Veronica Vasicka on her great radio show “minimal wave“. I will post more of this ancient tracks.

New Pedro Trotz’s blog. Updates about my works will be posted here.

You may know of my former blog and have noticed that this one is quite different. There have been a few reasons for the change. The old one was conceived before the social media explosion (2006) and it included features such a (later discontinued) forum, a podcast, a sound archive and a blog where technical articles were side to side with political ramblings, random thoughts and also some of my new works were presented.

Now, if you want to know about my more insubstantial thoughts you can follow me in Twitter: @pedrotrotz . Don’t even try to find me in Facebook or Myspace where I have either cancelled my accounts or lost access to them.

This site will be like a portfolio of my current video & audio works. For articles on sound, production techniques, electronics, sci-fi, diy, synths, etc… I collaborate with the Roñatrón collective both in their blogspot and podcast.

Finally, excuse my English ;) I’m no English native speaker and maybe a mistake or two will slip.
